RICHARD DRAYTON
I am married to Robyn, we have two children Rae and Rich III and a beautiful granddaughter Peyton. Born and raised in Philadelphia, I graduated from Central High School. After playing football and running track at Central I did the same at Temple University. At Temple I earned a degree in Business Administration. Upon leaving Temple I caught the coaching bug. A friend of mine Dominic Damico invited me to help with the receivers at Cardinal Dougherty and I have been coaching ever since.
I returned to school to obtain a certification in Education which made it easier to coach. At Eastern and Lincoln University I received certifications in Early Childhood Education, Middle School Math and Health and Physical Education. During that time I also became a certified Personal Trainer which proved to be useful while coaching football, basketball and track.
Some of my coaching stops are North Penn High School (football), Wissahickon High School (football), and Cheltenham High School (football and girls track). I’ve coached girls and boys basketball at the middle schools that I served as a teacher. Currently I am the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Central High School.
Here at Coaches Against Childhood Obesity (CACO) we want to help youth get and stay active along with developing healthy eating habits. These steps are necessary to stave off childhood obesity in our community.
